Hi folks! Just read about the Leitat medically validated 3D printed ventilator! Nice design!
Does anyone know if it will be available as an Open Source Ventilator?
Here in Brazil we are starting to have an increase in number of contaminated persons and deaths and there is going to have a huge shortage in the available respirators around the country in a few days (we only have 65 thousand respirators around the whole country!). Some projections are showing between 1 million to 2.1 million deaths for the next two or three months, with millions more infected, so we will need all help available! (Brazil has a population of <span style=”color: #222222; font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14px;”>over 211 million people</span> )
We are makers, doctors, engineers, etc, in an Open Source Medical Resources community in Facebook checking whether some Open Source Ventilator Projects are feasible to be produced locally and knowing that there is one already medically approved would really enhance the chances to have it formally approved by the National Health Surveillance Agency (ANVISA).
Is there someone we can talk to regarding this project at Leitat? Any contact you may provide?
Is there already a repository for the files regarding the respirator (Github, Thingiverse, Grabcad, etc)?
Thanks in advance for any information you could provide!
